This breed is from Ferozpur and Amritsar districts of Punjab and Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan. It has well developed udder, good slope at rump and shorter horns. The farmers of the west region use this bull as draft and dairy animal. The color of this Sahiwal Bull can range from reddish brown through to the more predominant red. It is tick-resistant, heat-tolerant and noted for its high resistance to parasites. It is generally docile and lethargic, making it more useful for slow work.
